-====== External sensor installation ======
-You can datalog a number of aftermarket sensors with DSMLink.  These primarily include pressure sensors, temperature sensors, and wideband kits.  For a complete list of supported sensors, visit the [[ExternalSensorList|supported sensors]] page.  Regardless of which sensor is being used, the process for installation is almost always the same.  You start by installing the sensor according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.  This will include running power and ground and whatever else the sensor needs to get.  Once that's done and the sensor appears to be installed and working properly, you select an [[ExternalSensorInput|available input]] on the ECU to which you will connect the sensor's output.  You disconnect the factory sensor that was providing signal data to the ECU on the selected line and then connect your new sensor's output instead.
-
-Once that's done, you go into DSMLink's ''ECU->Captured values'' dialog and datalog the new sensor.  That's about it.  Some sensor's will have some special cases to consider, though, as do certain ECU inputs you want to use.  So carefully read through the pages below to familiarize yourself with all this information before you proceed.
