<h1>ECMLink's Output Control Wiring (formerly known as "Nitrous" Controls)</h1> <div class="level1"> <p> ECMLink's output controls provide a means of defining parameters that activate any one of a few solenoid outputs on the ECU. These outputs are all switches to ground. That is to say when active, that ECU pin will be connected to ground. When not active, it floats. But that ground connection is *not* sufficient to directly drive a high pressure solenoid. You must use a relay and, preferably, a master arm switch between the ECU and the solenoids being driven if you're using large solenoids. Trying to drive the solenoid(s) directly from the ECU <b>will</b> result in damage to the ECU. </p> <p> ECMLink's output controls can be used for a variety of things. Our users have been far more clever in how they use this feature than we ever imagined. They have used it to control water injection, methanol, <a href="/wiki/doku.php?id=usenitrouscontrolsfordejontoolbovmod" class="wikilink1" title="usenitrouscontrolsfordejontoolbovmod">blow off valve bypass</a>, and probably a few other things we're not even aware of. So this page is going to describe the general approach to using solenoid outputs of the ECU to drive a larger solenoid through a relay. You can get a lot more information on the <a href="/wiki/doku.php?id=ecuwiringinformation" class="wikilink1" title="ecuwiringinformation">ECU wiring information</a> page, including pin location and wire colors as well. You'll want pin 57 on a 1G ECU and pin 3 on a 2G ECU. </p> <p> You'll probably use a standard ISO (Bosch) automotive relay.
