Product comparison

Although we no longer offer V3Lite for the DSM platform, this page is still useful for those that already have V3Lite and may be considering an upgrade to full V3 or for those that are considering the EVO1-3/GSR/RVR package (which is effectively V3Lite). This page summarizes the differences between these two versions.

UPGRADE NOTE: Keep in mind that the V3Lite package is upgradeable to a regular V3 package at any time. You simply purchase a V3Lite conversion off our website and download a new firmware file for your ECU.

EVO1-3 NOTE: On the early EVO platforms, we currently only offer V3Lite. There is no “full V3” package for this platform yet.

V3Lite V3 Description
Greatly enhanced logging Logging speeds in excess of 1000 samples per second, MUCH faster than the factory interface and with far more data options.
Native USB logging cable A fully opto-isolated, custom-molded solution that plugs neatly into the car's diagnostic port.
Live cell tracking Shows exactly which cells are being used for core functions as the engine is running or while viewing a datalog.
Global injector compensation Run just about any injector you want. We've seen applications running everything from stock injectors on gasoline to Bosch 2100s on E85 to dual-rail 10-injector setups on who knows what. A basic starting point can be found on our Injector Data page with more complete details on our Fuel Settings page.
Injector deadtime control Aftermarket injectors require custom deadtime adjustments to idle and cruise properly.
Extended fuel and timing tables You can run outside these ranges. You just won't have individual adjustment points.

Airflow compensation To help fine tune your fuel trims under varying driving conditions.
Selectable Mitsubishi MAS Run a 1G DSM, Galant VR4, 2G DSM, or EVO8/3G MAS.
Engine speed limits The “standard” RPM limits (rev limiter, launch stutterbox, no lift to shift).
Torque calculation inside the ECU Best possible torque calculation using all the data immediately available inside the ECU. This effectively utilizes information from every single firing event.
Dash gauge display Change the factory boost gauge display to show whatever you want.
TPS adjustments/dial-in Automatic TPS calibration. For more details, see the TPS Adjust page.
Idle switch simulation Simulates the idle switch for less hassle. Just use the Auto TPS Adjust function and then check the simulate idle switch checkbox. That's all there is to it.
Narrowband O2 simulation Run normal closed loop operation using your wideband. This frees up inputs to the ECU for logging other things, like manifold pressure. Complete details can be found on the Narrowband simulation page.
Anti-lag Quick spool the turbo off the line by retarding ignition when launching or shifting gears.
Knock sensor control Work around phantom knock by defining the operating conditions under which the knock sensor can be ignored.
Solenoid tests One-click tests of each solenoid output.
Fan control, fuel pump control, etc. Enable fans full time (not available on the 1G) or fuel pump.
DTCs (check engine codes) Check engine diagnostic codes.
Log aftermarket sensors Log any number of aftermarket sensors, including boost sensors, air temp sensors, fuel pressure sensors and wideband kits. This page is a good starting point for more information.
Throttle tip-in adjustments Tweak the “snap throttle” response.
Open loop thresholds Run closed loop with more or less throttle and under more or less load. Useful when you want to maintain closed loop operation above 80mph on a 1G, for example, or idle in open loop but cruise in closed loop or just to extend the areas where you collect closed loop data for dialin.
Auto MAF compensation An extremely useful tool for getting those fuel trims inline quick and easy. Automatically dials in MAF compensation for you.
Auto-scaled, RPM-based fuel adjustments Make quick and easy “3D” adjustments by letting the ECU do the work for you.
Simplified RPM-based timing controls Make a few quick tweaks to timing before you go into the full 3D table and adjust the cells individually.
Native GM MAF support Run a GM MAF sensor directly into the ECU using our cable! No GM MAF translator device required. Our cable with the auto MAF adjustment tool makes dialing in a GM MAF sensor cake work.
Hot start enrichment ECMLink provides an enrichment function when the engine is started while hot. If you find that you need this function because your engine seems to run lean when started hot, then check this box.
MAF sensor simulation Allows you to run a nice, smooth factory MAF for all your idle and cruise functions and then switch to pseudo SD when the MAF sensor is about to over run. This function basically disables the MAF under high boost and simulates and extrapolates airflow automatically.
Switchable secondary maps Switch in a second set of base timing and fuel maps. Can be activated manually with a switch on the dash or automatically based on criteria you define.
Secondary fuel compensation Run more than 4 injectors or switch between different fuels (e85 and gasoline, for example). Can be activated manually with a switch on the dash or automatically based on criteria you define.
Programmable output controls Control your nitrous kit or water injection or any number of other things using a set of parameters you define.
Idle air simulation Works around that annoying stall when coming to a stop or pressing the clutch pedal in. Can also be used to run a vented blow off valve with a factory mass air sensor.
Individual deadtime control Adjust the deadtime of each injector individually. Makes for smoother idle and better fuel control at cruise with large injectors.
High resolution deadtime Nearly four times the resolution in deadtime control compared to factory. Further improves idle quality and possibly mileage too!
Gear-based boost control Full boost control functionality with gear-based operation.
